LOOP at CLIFFORD CHANCE
23 February- 3 April 2009
For the last 15 years Clifford Chance, the international law firm, has allocated an annual budget to build a collection of original prints by Britain's leading artists of the last 100 years. Supported with an active participation programme, the collection provides a stimulating creative amenity for those working and visiting their premises. In addition Clifford Chance, advised by Frank/Hindley Art Consultants, puts on regular exhibitions of work by contemporary printmakers. LOOP at Clifford Chance is part of this programme.
LOOP is a group of artists who have regularly shown together for the past five years. They first exhibited at the Menier Gallery, have subsequently regularly shown there and at Bankside, and later this year will show at The Gallery in Redchurch St from 16-21 June 2009.
LOOP originated as a group of alumni from the MA printmaking course at Camberwell College of Art, and has continued to attract new members, and to invite new members, becoming a fluid group of artists whose connection is a training in print. The group actively encourages contemporary views of subject matter and the inventive use of materials and techniques, aiming to put on lively exhibitions that contain the best of tradition and innovation. LOOP have begun a tradition of including invited guest artists to exhibit with them. The first of these was OONA GRIMES, and LEONARD MCCOMB has kindly agreed to exhibit with the group at the Clifford Chance exhibition. The show will also include Anna Alcock, Lucy Bainbridge, Alex Booker, Helen Bridges, Janet Curley Cannon, Wuon Gean Ho, Bill Pryde, Kitty Reford, Martin Ridgwell, Lynda Sale, John Tate and Giulia Zaniol.
The show is open to the public on Fridays only, and by appointment only; for more information, or if you would like to arrange to see the exhibition, please contact info@loopartists.co.uk
