Images are ambiguities, and ambiguities question borders, inviting self-questioning without which we cannot grow.
Beyond borders you find an art of signs and colours, made of joy and fear, as old as the human race.
With a language of signs and marks I look at the co-existence of layers of memory and experience. This visual narrative, a landscape of signs and layers, reflects perceptions of time, memory, transience and the illusion of 'reality'.
After an English degree I worked in Tibetan refugee camps in North India, where I taught English, raised money for rehabilitation, and explored Tibetan culture, including painting and printmaking. Back in the UK I completed a BA in Fine Art and an MA in printmaking. |
