The Domestic Frontier
These woodcuts explore the domestic frontier of the anti idyll, that which is thought of as perfect, but is not.
The three prints of family houses hold emotional resonance. A metaphorical comment on change and transition, the subject of these images are life lived in the space, with events, and more events as markers.
The prints are made in a reductive method; cut the wood, print it, cut again and so on. House shaped planks are installed together, linked by doodles, suggesting a presence passing. |
